2022 District Officer Candidates’ Corner

Currently serving District 79 as an ‘Assistant Division A Director for Club Growth’ 2020-2021, I am ready to lead as your Division A Director for the year 2021-2022.

I, Asjad Ansari, a Distinguished Toastmaster, and a senior, majoring in Communication and Network Engineering at Prince Sultan University, Riyadh, has served Toastmasters International for 6 years in various club officer positions and as a club coach and a YLP Coordinator; has a vision of building successful teams and a distinguished division.

My plan is to promote and enhance the existing positives in our division and resolve the challenges that may arise, such as loss of membership in club/s, and loss of clubs in their respective area/s and completion of educational projects.

To overcome these challenges, you and I will aim at having more club coaches and training sessions at the Division Level. We will promptly award incentives to the competent members, conduct membership campaigns, highlight the values of Toastmasters, invite guests, and encourage them to be Toastmasters. In addition, I also intend to promote Youth Leadership Programs and forming Gavel Clubs.

I plan to encourage hybrid Toastmasters meetings and trainings and promote activities in the Division on social media platforms, and invite keynote speakers from around the world to inspire and enlighten the members. As a Model United Nations, I was successful in providing proposals to real world issues and had the resolutions passed in both 2019 & 2020.

I am going to implement the strategies & skills learnt during these sessions in helping Members, Clubs, Areas in Division A resolve their issues & achieve their best.

As the Division Director my primary aim is to revitalize all the clubs in the Division. I will work closely with Area Directors so that clubs are encouraged to work toward membership building and member retention, while members have a quality experience and feel appreciated for their efforts and service. I will encourage Area Directors to assist their clubs with implementing a Club Success Plan to accomplish DCP Goals.

I will also work on enhancing the performance of the District by expanding the networks of clubs so that more people are benefited from Toastmasters and to achieve the Toastmasters mission to empower individuals to become more effective communicators and leaders.

I believe that this can be achieved by, spreading the mission of Toastmasters International to more people by organizing many events. I will ensure that that every club discharges its responsibilities to its members and will provide adequate training and leadership opportunities to the club officers. I will be proactively coordinating with other key members and develop teams to monitor and achieve District goals.

I want to give back to the society, what I have learned from Toastmasters and from my 21 years of professional experience in developing and improving more people by introducing them to toastmasters.

A Certified Management Accountant (CMA) by profession, having a long career in Managerial positions in the field of Finance, Banking Relations, Administration and Support Services. Joined Toastmasters in June, 2007. Served as Area 61 Director, Assistant Area 60 Director, Club President, Club VP-Education, and Secretary. Served as Pathways Guide, a member of the District Leadership Committee, Chief Judge and Judge at District, Division, Area and Club level. Sponsored and mentored several clubs and many Toastmasters in Saudi Arabia as well as in Bangladesh. Established the very first Toastmasters Club in Bangladesh in April 2012.

If I am given the chance to serve as the Division F Director for the term 2020-2021 my Team & I will work together diligently to make the Division F not only President’s Distinguished but also the best in District 79. At the same time make the Toastmasters learning experience of every member a fulfilling and rewarding one.

Division Council, comprising of the Division EXCOM, Area Directors, Club Presidents and VPs-Education, with my guidance, support, motivation & help, will be committed to work hard to achieve District 79’s goals and help execute District’s mission to build more clubs and support all clubs to achieve excellence. Quality will be of utmost importance to all of us. We will focus on promoting, developing and sustaining quality clubs. Besides, we will prioritize Pathways Enrollment and training. Above all, our entire team will be committed to uphold the core values of Toastmasters International.

I, Ajay Kumar Das, DTM, your nominated candidate for the office of Division Director for the Division L for the Toastmaster year 2021-2022.

I started my Toastmasters journey in the year 2007. Since then, I worked in various leadership positions of club, area and division and district. I had taken many major roles in Division conference, District Conference SATAC and also many challenging roles in the district realignment process.

This year I got an opportunity to serve our district as Division L Program Quality Director . And also as a Program Director for the contest operation English for the SATAC 2021, District Realignment Team member- responsible for the Division D, E & L- Realignment process

Toastmaster is my passion. I try my best to give my best 100% for any role assigned to me. One thing during my toastmasters journey, I realized :

“ No job is small or big in toastmasters platform, It is we, how we enjoy of doing the things. Just do it and cherish the moments.”

The club members are our strength and foundation for building a strong and vibrant Toastmasters fraternity. Given an opportunity, it will be my pleasure to serve our division L and its vibrant members to achieve their dreams and enjoy their toastmasters journey to the fullest and cherish the moments. When I joined Toastmasters in 2016, I thought Toastmasters was one of the places where can I spend some time as it helps me in building network. But over the time, I have realized the real potential of Toastmasters. Its not just helping or improving the public Speaking skills. Actually, it gives a platform where you can try all the skills whichever you want to improve in your career, sometimes in personal life too.

It improves the self-confidence, Leadership skills and so on. I have nominated myself for the Division Director (Division N) in the 2021-2022 year because I wanted share the knowledge and experiences I have gained in this platform and most importantly I wanted to give back to Toastmasters.

I have worked in various leadership positions of club, area and division and district. This year I have been serving as Assistant Program Quality Director for Division N. I have also served as Conference Chair and instrumental behind establishing two new clubs under Division N even in this Pandemic Situation.

I would like to take thank Division N for unanimously nominating me for this role to serve as the Division N Director for the year 2021-2022. I assure that I will give my best effort and always be committed to Toastmasters.

I have always been a proponent of the saying that “If a window of opportunity appears ,don’t pull down the shade” and dint err in this motto, when the time was ripe to offer my candidature for the upcoming election for the position of Division O Director.

The past six years of my association with Toastmasters has been a highly enriching one as it opened new vistas to me, both at a professional and personal level. The various leadership positions I took in Toastmasters, at the grass root level and across a broader spectrum, has transformed me to muster up the courage to take up more and more challenges. Apart from this, my twenty five years of professional experience in Sales & Marketing, with several countries in the Middle East , has not only enhanced my business acumen but also exposed me to different cultures , through which I could enhance my networking and interpersonal skills. I am quite confident that these learnings and expertise, will go a long way in keeping up the rich legacy of Division O, if elected, with your precious votes. Division O is a home to different cultures, working in unison towards a common goal and this is what make this division a unique one. Maintaining Unity in Diversity, with unabated commitment is the key to keep up the flag of Division flying high and I am soliciting your valuable votes to make this possible.

“I never Dreamed about Success, I worked for it”. I strongly believe that Vision Without action is daydreaming, and action without vision is a nightmare.

We all made our Toastmasters journey for a reason to learn and serve. I also want to give back to the toastmasters fraternity and society, what I have learned from Toastmasters during my journey since 2014. As the Division Director of outstanding Division-O my primary intention is to revive all the clubs in the Division. As of this year I have been serving as Assistant Director Program Quality for Division “O” and “F” both. I am not only aware of the current situation of all clubs in Division-O, their shortcomings and strengths but also as a part of the most successful Team of Division “F” in District 79 for 2020-21, I have both a Vision & action oriented approach. In addition, my former experience as successful area director of the year 2019-20 among 61 areas, for which I have been recognized with “Area Director of the Year Award”, demonstrates that I had built a strong team which helped achieve its purpose and marked its presence & accomplishment. I intend to do the same in the role of Division Director, to develop a strong team, grow them as team builders who will help clubs and each member of Division to achieve their goals and promote Toastmasters core values of Integrity, Respect, Service & Excellence.
